CAPE TOWN - It has been six years since the rape and killing of Uyinene Mrwetyana.
At the time, she was a first-year student at the University of Cape Town who had gone to fetch a parcel at the Claremont Post Office in Cape Town, where she was attacked.
Repeat offender Luyanda Botha confessed to her murder and is now serving three life sentences.
The pain of losing a child is still raw for Mrwetyana's mother.
Cape Town was a favoured vacation spot for the family; now it is a heartbreaking reminder of how a young life was cut short.
Her mother says that the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation has helped the family find peace.
Activists and UCT students joined the Mrwetyana family in a peace march to Parliament to keep her memory alive.
