Joburg residents urged to exercise caution when using fireworks

JOHANNESBURG - Authorities are urging Johannesburg residents to exercise caution when using fireworks on Sunday night.

Fireworks in the city are allowed between 11pm New Year's Eve until 1am on Monday morning.

Residents are encouraged to avoid lighting fireworks in public spaces, inside buildings, or near petrol or explosives.
