Johann Rupert, Ernie Els in Washington for Ramaphosa-Trump talks

JOHANNESBURG - A high-level delegation, including the Minister in the Presidency, Ministers of International Relations, Agriculture, Trade and Industry, and the Special Envoy to the US, will accompany the President when he meets Trump Wednesday.

Joining the delegation is renowned South African businessman Johann Rupert, and former golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.

It's understood that South-African-born businessman Elon Musk will not be present today.

The last time Ramaphosa was at the White House in 2022 when he met former President Joe Biden.

But that meeting was under very different circumstances. This time he enters the Oval Office with relations between the countries strained.

Trump accuses Pretoria of grabbing land and killing white farmers. Ramaphosa hopes to clarify the issue at the White House meeting.

But, Trump has indicated he wants assurances that things will change.
