Johannesburg, Tshwane residents urged to use water sparingly

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg and Tshwane residents are being warned of further supply interruptions and residents are being urged to use water sparingly.

Rand Water's central supply system is under severe strain due to pressure and high demand.

The bulk water utility's water storage has plummeted below thirty percent.

As a result,  the City Tshwane says it is implementing measures to manage demand and preserve water resources.

Meanwhil City of Johannesburg officials say various internal strategies will be implemented to mitigate the situation.
