KZN Budget Speech | KwaZulu-Natal faces more budget cuts
PIETERMARITZBURG - KZN Finance MEC, Peggy Nkonyeni, delivered her provincial budget speech on Thursday.
Last year she announced massive budget cuts and continued on the same trend this year. Spending towards several departments has been slashed.
"On the other hand, as indicated by Honourable Minister Godongwana in his budget
speech last month, we are not out of the woods yet and thus the fiscal consolidation
stance that started a few years ago is set to continue in this budget," Nkonyeni said.
"As a result, there are budget cuts made against our equitable share budget over the MTEF," she added.
