KZN disaster management on high alert as heavy rains continue

KZN floods ongoing

DURBAN - The death toll in the latest KwaZulu-Natal floods has increased to six.

Several districts in the province were severely affected on Friday evening by heavy rains.

KZN Cogta spokesperson, Siboniso Mngadi says 18 households in Willowfontein,

Pietermaritzburg were damaged.

COGTA is urging communities to be vigilant in the bad weather.

The Harry Gwala, uMgungundlovu, and uMzinyathi districts have been severely affected.

Disaster teams in KwaZulu-Natal are on high alert as heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in the province.

Cogta MEC, Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi has sent her condolences to the bereaved families.

With more rain expected, communities are urged to be vigilant.
