LIVESTREAM: Ramaphosa seeks to delay apartheid-era crimes lawsuit

PRETORIA - President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African government are in the High Court in Pretoria, seeking to delay a constitutional damages case brought by 25 families and survivors of apartheid-era crimes.

The families are demanding R167-million for what they call the state's "gross failure" to adequately investigate and prosecute political crimes that were identified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The government's application seeks to reinstate its opposition in the case and is requesting a postponement or a stay of the main application
