Local government elections will be on 4 November

JOHANNESBURG - South Africans will head to the polls on the 4th of November 2026 for the country’s next local government elections.

The vote will determine who runs municipalities, including key metros like Johannesburg, where service delivery, infrastructure collapse and water shortages remain major concerns.

Political parties have already hit the campaign trail, wooing voters, in efforts to keep coalitions at bay.
