EAST LONDON - Judgment is expected today in the firearm case against EFF leader Julius Malema, and his former bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman.
The charges stem from a 2018 party birthday rally in Mdantsane, where video footage showed Malema firing what appeared to be a rifle into the air.
Both men face multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
The pair have pleaded not guilty, claiming it was a toy gun, but the state insists it was real.
Magistrate Twanet Olivier expected to deliver her ruling today.
