JOHANNESBURG - Former Minister of Public Enterprises, Malusi Gigaba has been summoned to appear in court today over alleged irregularities in Transnet's procurement processes.
Although the charges he faces are now clear yet, Gigaba says he will fully cooperate with the legal process and maintains his conscience is clear.
His time at Transnet was mired in controversy over alleged undue influence in major procurement deals.
Gigaba saw efforts to promote BEE and industrial development, but a state capture inquiry later found he encouraged Transnet to bypass Treasury rules and approved appointments that enabled corruption.
He is now expected to testify about his time at Transnet before a judge.
