JOHANNESBURG - A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court this Friday.
He faces charges of attempted murder and child abuse after his four-year-old daughter,
was found severely injured in Eldorado Park.
Police responded to a complaint that the father was abusive, and found the suspect with a little boy and girl in a locked backyard shack.
The girl had visible head injuries, bruises and a swollen eye.
Officers arrested the man immediately, when he failed to explain what had happened.
The child's mother has also been taken into custody, charged with defeating the ends of justice.
