Mchunu: Police have a right to defend themselves

BOKSBURG - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu says officers were met with gunfire when they tried to apprehend suspected cash-in-transit robbers in Khayelitsha on Monday night.

Mchunu says police had to defend themselves, resulting in five suspects being fatally shot.

Police recovered 13 firearms, seven of them AK-47s.
