JOHANNESBURG - The uMkhonto weSizwe Party and African Transformation Movement are calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa's head.
The parties have filed no-confidence motions in the president.
The Constitutional Court ruled that Parliament acted unlawfully when it voted against adopting a report that found Ramaphosa had a case to answer in relation to the Phala Phala robbery.
The December 2022 vote was deemed invalid and unconstitutional.
In a statement, former president Jacob Zuma's party said Ramaphosa's actions have damaged public trust in the presidency.
"We request that the motion be placed on the Order Paper and scheduled no later than
Wednesday, 13 May 2026, with the vote to be conducted by secret ballot immediately
after the conclusion of the debate. We await your urgent confirmation of the date of
debate and your decision on the voting procedure," MKP's motion reads in part.
