He was scheduled to visit parts of the city on Thursday afternoon.
A move some critics say feels more like damage control than a real plan to fix the city.
Following mounting protests at council chambers, and growing frustrations from residents in Mayfair, Brixton, and nearby communities, Morero now faces renewed pressure to show real leadership.
Johannesburg Water is progressing with an intervention to improve supply to Coronationville's high zone. The project started on 22 September 2025, with excavations near Harmony and Hamilton streets, Coronationville, where a cross-connection will be made. #JoburgUpdates pic.twitter.com/BQI60TlsRO
