National Assembly to decide Mkhwebane’s future
CAPE TOWN - While the interviewing process for South Africa’s new Public Protector has started, the final report by the Section 194 committee which found Busisiwe Mkhwebane guilty of misconduct and incompetence, has been adopted.
Mkwebane gave no input on the report.
This means her fate is now in the hands of the National Assembly.
The committee recommended that Mkhwebane be removed from her position as Public Protector.
Section 194 Committee Chairperson Qubudile Dyantyi said he is confident that the findings will stand despite the threats of it being reviewed.
The committee started its work in July last year.
