No accountability for Marikana Massacre 13 years later

MARIKANA - Victims and families of the Marikana Massacre are still waiting for justice, 13 years on.

They now plan to head to the courts to force the President to issue a formal apology.

Police gunned down 34 striking mineworkers on the 16th of August 2012.

10 more people, including police and security officers, were killed in the weeks leading up to the massacre.

Marikana remains a deeply traumatic and unresolved chapter in the country's history.
