Operation Shanela | Gauteng residents urged to stop vigilantism

JOHANNESBURG - Police in Gauteng are warning citizens to avoid taking the law into their own hands.

There has been an increase in acts of vigilantism in areas such as Diepsloot.

Gauteng police commissioner Elias Mawela was leading Operation Shanela in areas including Cosmo City and Honeydew.

He was joined by Angola Police Commissioner Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, who is here on a seven-day working visit to share expertise and insights on organised and emerging crime trends.
