Parts of Joburg without water today

JOHANNESBURG - Several areas in the south, north and northeast of Johannesburg will be without water today, for between 10 and 14 hours.

In the south, the outage will allow for emergency repairs on a burst pipe on the inlet of Lenasia Cosmos and Hospital Hills.

Affected areas include Zakariya Park, Fine Town and Lenasia South.

In the northeast, the reason for the 14-hour water interruption is to enable the tie-in of a new pipe to existing infrastructure.

Alexandra, Kew and Bramley will be among areas affected.

In the north, the outage is for the inspection of a reservoir.

Sunninghill, Woodmead, Waterfall and parts of Morningside will be without water.

Tankers will be provided to high-lying areas when necessary.

Also Eikenhof pump station once again tripped last night.
