Police are doing their job, I want no involvement - Kunene

JOHANNESBURG - City of Joburg Transport MMC, Kenny Kunene, has confirmed that he was present at the home of murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe when police arrested him.

Molefe and three others have been charged with the murder of popular musician Oupa John Sefoka, better known as DJ Sumbody. He was re-arrested by the SAPS on Monday.

Kunene spoke exclusively to eNCA, explaining that he was at Molefe’s house to accompany a journalist for an interview.

“Yes, I was at the house of Mr Molefe when he was arrested. I realise I don’t have time for my online newspaper because of my work as the MMC, so I’ve handed it over to young journalists who are struggling to find jobs. There was an opportunity to interview Mr Molefe, and I took the journalist there,” he said.

Kunene says he has no intention of getting involved in the case but welcomes the police’s progress.

“The police are doing their job. I don’t want to get involved, but I’m glad there’s movement in fighting crime,” he added.
