CAPE TOWN - Parliament's Police Portfolio Committee has described the exoneration of eight SAPS VIP Protection Unit officers as shameful.
An internal investigation cleared all the officers of any wrongdoing.

They were filmed assaulting civilians on the N1 highway in 2023, while escorting Deputy President, Paul Mashatile.
The charges included pointing a firearm and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
