JOHANNESBURG - Police are probing whether Brown Mogotsi's alleged murder attempt was staged.
This is after Mogotsi has reportedly been reluctant to surrender his devices to the police for further investigation.

The controversial businessman and political fixer was allegedly ambushed in Vosloorus on Monday night.
About 11 bullets penetrated the vehicle he was travelling in with a passenger.
Mogotsi's name featured prominently in probes into probes into alleged rot in the police service.

He is accused of criminal activities, meddling in SAPS and bankrolling Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu.
Mogotsi's business premises were raided in the North West in October.
