Ramaphosa entrusts Mcebisi Jonas with fixing relations with US

JOHANNESBURG - Former Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas, is 'the right man for the US envoy job'.

That's why President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed him to Washington, DC. Jonas is expected to put out diplomatic fires raging between the US and South Africa.

Ramaphosa had spent weeks preparing and carefully selecting the right people to send to the world,  including the United States, to clear the air.

South Africa's relationship with the US is at its worst following the expulsion of its ambassador to the US, Ebrahim Rasool, in March.
