Ramaphosa mourns six lives lost in Johannesburg building collapse

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent condolences to the families of six people who died when a building collapsed in Ormonde, Johannesburg, on Monday. 

Ramaphosa hopes that an inquiry into the collapse will provide answers to the families of the deceased as well as the survivors. 

Meanwhile the search for those three people trapped under the rubble continue. 

According to Emergency Services there were 12 people inside the building when it collapsed.

Two remain trapped, one rescued and three are still unaccounted for. 

One of the major challenges facing the teams on the ground is the instability of the structure. 

According to emergency services parts of the building is already caving in.

As a result, cautious is exercised to ensure that rescue teams do not get caught in another collapse.

The cause of the collapse still remains unclear.
