JOHANNESBURG - After a seemingly tense meeting between the two presidents, President Cyril Ramaphosa is expressing optimism about future relations with the US.
Ramaphosa's described his meeting with US President Donald Trump as a great success.
The presidents discussed a number of issues, including trade and Trump's claims of land seizures and genocide.
On Wednesday, Trump continued to assert that a form of genocide is taking place in South Africa, particularly targeting white Afrikaners.
His administration recently granted 49 Afrikaners refugee status in the US.
Relations have been strained between the two nations.
