Ramaphosa responds to High Court ruling on blackouts

DUBAI - President Cyril Ramaphosa says government will take the necessary steps to ensure hospitals and schools are less affected by blackouts.

Ramaphosa was responding to the judgment of the High Court in Pretoria, ordering essential services to be exempt from blackouts.

The court also ruled that power cuts are a result of Eskom and government's failure, that it infringes on the basic rights of South Africans.
