Rand Water denies failing to protect Teboho Joala

JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water has moved to discredit media reports that they failed to protect their Chief Shared Services Officer, Teboho Joala.

Joala was assassinated on 29 January while attending an event in Zakariyya Park, south of Johannesburg.

Rand Water says it provides personal protection services to all its executives.

Joala's protector was also killed in his car during the incident, according to reports Joala was shot eight times.

Rand Water has appealed for police to be given time to conduct their investigations without interference or undue influence.

They have also called for the media and public to not spread unsubstantiated information.
