Remembering Chris Hani | There is too much pain that lingers since 1994

JOHANNESBURG - The late struggle stalwart who was the secretary general of the SACP was killed by Polish national Janus Walusz 32 years ago in Germiston in Gauteng.

It’s the first commemoration since Walusz was released from prison and went back to Poland.

The unresolved questions surrounding the assassination of Hani continue to raise concern. 

This has since sparked renewed calls for a full inquiry into the broader conspiracy behind his murder.

This is because many believe the delays over the years are unjustified and that further investigation is necessary.

Among those who share this view is apartheid struggle veteran Ronnie Kasrils. 

"In terms of investigations and speeding up the enquiry, that is unpardonable.

 There has been this delay over the years, and I am very pleased that the deputy president is supporting the idea of the investigations. It must come," Kasrils.
