CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has begun buying excess solar power from small-scale generators.

It becomes the first Metro to implement the Cash for Power Programme.

The city claims businesses and households have earned millions through the programme.

Power sellers earn credits against their municipal bills and can even get some back in cash.
