Round two and three are loading - March and March

DURBAN - The March and March movement has vowed to continue protesting until the government addresses the issue of illegal immigration in the country.

The anti-illegal immigration organisation, founded by Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, made the remarks as they wrapped up their protest in Durban on Tuesday.

The demonstration formed part of anti-illegal immigration protests, on the unofficial 30 June "deadline" wherein they sought for undocumented migrants to leave the country.

Addressing the media, Ngobese-Zuma said the movement would persist with its demonstrations until its grievances are heard, regardless of turnout.

"Even if it's 20 to 30 people, the protest shall happen. We're giving the government three months for the Thursday protests. As I said before, this thing is like being in a boxing ring. You can't give out all your energy at once. We did one burst of energy on 30 June, now we're on to round two, and then we'll move on to round three,” she said.

Protests took place across major hubs of the country, including Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban. Demonstrations were also held in KuGompo in the Eastern Cape.

Ngobese-Zuma described the protest as successful.
