GQEBERHA – Student protests have reached a third day, with no end in sight yet as clashes over registration, accommodation and funding continue at Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha.
The students started protesting on Thursday. A private security company is on campus and students hurled stones at them. In response, the private security company fired rubber bullets.
Nelson Mandela University has subsequently obtained a court order, barring the students from any destruction of property, interruption of institution programs and emphasising lawful protesting guidelines.
This is a developing story.
