Runaway fires tear through Richards Bay

RICHARDS BAY - Authorities say that high temperatures and winds have made it difficult to battle a fire that started on Saturday.

The fire started at the NCT wood chip mill and spread onto the conveyor belt system. This caused the situation to intensify.

Investigations are underway to find the cause of the blaze.

No deaths or injuries have been reported yet.
