JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has denounced a recent US report on human rights in the country, calling it inaccurate and deeply flawed.
The report says South Africa has taken a worrying step towards land expropriation of Afrikaners.
It further accuses the country of abuses against racial minorities.
The Department of International Relations says the report distorts crucial facts of farm killings by presenting ongoing court cases as extrajudicial killings.
The department reaffirms that South Africa is a democracy with constitutional bodies that protect human rights.
Government says it will release documents to set the record straight, and says it remains open to addressing the matter through diplomatic channels.
