JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance is set to lodge a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission, over the recent SASSA payment debacle.
The DA says the issue of late or non-payment of grants is worse than what the officials make it out to be.
The party also says it is a clear violation of citizens’ right to life, equality, dignity, food and social security.
Three weeks into the month, some beneficiaries are still without their September payouts.
The Postbank blamed a malfunction of its payment system for the delay.
The entire board and its chairperson have since resigned, citing hostility from Communications Minister Mondli Gungubele.
