JOHANNESBURG - Stage 2 power cuts has have been suspended
Eskom suspended the rolloing black outs at midnight.
On Thursday Eskom implemented rolling blackouts at short notice.
Eskom says the suspension followed the recovery of over 2,000 megawatts of generation capacity.
The utility says there was also a decline in demand, and emergency reserves have been replenished.
Eskom says planned maintenance is underway to prepare for the winter demand.
In the meantime, it's urging consumers to use electricity sparingly to reduce pressure on the grid.
