Stage 4 blackouts until Monday morning

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom ramps up blackouts from stage three to four from  8pm on Saturday until Monday morning.

It says this is to replenish the dam levels at pumped-storage power stations in preparation for the week ahead.

The beleaguered utility reduced power cuts to stage three yesterday due to an improvement of the generation capacity.

South Africans have recently been experiencing higher stages of blackouts, causing further frustration.

Eskom says it will closely monitor the power grid and communicate the stages as required.
