Suspect linked to Saulsville massacre appears in court

JOHANNESBURG - The man arrested in connection with the Atteridgeville mass shooting that left 12 people dead has appeared in court.

Ballistics tests have positively linked a firearm seized during the arrest of a suspect in Polokwane, to the crime scene.

The suspect was arrested last week during a joint operation by Gauteng and Limpopo police and was found in possession of the firearm and ammunition.

He appeared in court on firearm charges on Tuesday. 

He's then expected to face multiple counts of murder and attempted murder in Atteridgeville on Wednesday.

A manhunt continues for the two remaining suspects.

The case has been postponed to 19 February to allow further investigation.
