Tally of bodies recovered from Hennops River rises to five

CENTURION - The number of of bodies recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion have risen to five. 

Initially, three bodies were found and were believed to be those of the officers who went missing en route to Polokwane last week.

Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys and Boipelo Senoge disappeared while travelling to north for their deployment.

Their vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo was last seen near the Grasmere toll plaza, and since then, their phones and tracking devices have been offline. Officials have confirmed that a debris of a Volkswagen has also been found in the river. 

So far, three female bodies and two males have been recovered in different locations within the river. SAPS search and rescue with other emergency services are on the scene as operations continue.

National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola, offered a reward for any information regarding the disappearance shortly after meeting their families on Sunday.
