Prolonged construction on a busy Johannesburg road has left many motorists and commuters seething. Roadworks on William Nicol Drive have been ongoing for over a year, adding pressure to already slow-moving traffic.

JOHANNESBURG - The Transport Ministry was inspecting roadworks in parts of Gauteng on Thursday.

About a billion rand has been set aside to assist provinces countrywide with road infrastructure maintenance and improvement.
