Tshwane spends R30m on suspended officials - Dr Nasiphi Moya

JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya said the City is spending R30 million on suspended officials.

She said most of those receiving payments are senior officials.

"I just know the value is about 30 million per annum that we are paying on people who are on suspension. The 2023 cases and the Rooivaal cases, that's about 80 % of that R30m, because those are senior officers," she said.

DA Tshwane mayoral candidate Cilliers Brink has slammed incumbent mayor, claiming she’s not truly running the capital.

Brink insists ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba effectively controls the city.

He also accused Mashaba of cutting political deals that have undermined governance in Tshwane.

Brink said that service delivery has deteriorated under the current administration and promises the DA will fix it if they win Tshwane back.

"With respect to Nasiphi, we worked very well together, but I don't think she's the mayoral candidate. And I also don't think that she's the real mayor of the city. Party leader Herman Mashaba of Action SA did a deal with the devil."
