Tshwane Strike | Tshwane Mayor calls on crime intelligence to assist

PRETORIA - Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink is calling for assistance from crime intelligence to deal with the ongoing municipal strike in the city.

Brink briefed the media Wednesday on the illegal strike's impact on service delivery.

Workers affiliated to the South African Municipal Workers’ Union have been striking for over a month, demanding a 5.4 %  salary increase.

A waste collection truck was recently attacked and set alight.

The city says it cannot afford the increase, but SAMWU insists that is not the case.
