Two arrested for Germiston Home Affairs fire

EKURHULENI - Two people have been arrested for Germiston fire.

Home Affairs building was set ablaze earlier this morning, allegedly by protesting community members.

Emergency services are on the scene and firefighters are attempting to quell the blaze at the two story building.

As a safety precaution, President and Jack streets were closed to traffic, and nearby buildings were closed off.

Meanwhile,  Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber condemned the incident, calling it an “attack on social infrastructure.”
