'Two days from now we get vicious' – Fadiel Adams

CAPE TOWN – Member of Parliament Fadiel Adams has vowed to be “vicious” in the new week, after he has had time to spend with his family.

Adams was released on R10,000 by the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court, where he faces two counts of defeating the ends of justice and three counts of fraud.

Adams then flew back to the Western Cape on Friday night, where he received a hero’s welcome at Cape Town International Airport.

“I’m tired. It has been a long week. I just want to get to my kids. I just want to get to my mother. I’m going to take two days off, and the gloves come off. That’s all I’m going to say for now. Two days from now, then we get vicious,” Adams said.

The State accuses Adams of falsely claiming he was on official parliamentary duty to gain access to a hitman convicted of killing former ANC Youth League Secretary General, Sindiso Magaqa.

The National Coloured Congress leader had been arrested in Cape Town ten days ago and was transported to KwaZulu-Natal.

Magistrate Gwendolyn Robinson released Adams on strict bail conditions, which include reporting to the charge office at Mitchells Plain Police Station in Cape Town between 6am and 8pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays, pending the finalisation of the matter.

“I implore you to please respect the criminal justice system, as the criminal justice system has respected you,” she said.
