JOHANNESBURG - The case against businessman Vusumuzi “Cat” Matlala has been postponed to 26 August.
Matlala appeared before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court alongside three other accused including his wife, Tsakani Matlala.
Matlala faces charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and money laundering.
He allegedly orchestrated a hit on his ex-girlfriend, actress Tebogo Thobejane.
Thobejane was shot while driving home from a Sandton lounge in October last year.
Matlala's name has surfaced in explosive claims by KZN police boss, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who says he's tied to a crime syndicate that's allegedly linked to Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.
The controversial tenderpreneur is being held at the maximum-security Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre.
