JOHANNESBURG - Bold words from Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.

He says he will leave his position if he cannot make a difference and solve the crime and corruption problem in the province.

He says the province is investing billions into the community safety department, and looking to add a further R5bn to its budget to ensure the safety of Gauteng residents.

Lesufi says despite a reduction in the number of incidents, nearly 2,000 -deaths per quarter remain a concern.
