WATCH | Kodwa fuming over DA 'burning flag' images

JOHANNESBURG - The DA crossed the line with the burning of the country's flag in its election campaign.

That's the view of Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa.

He's now considering taking action against the party.

Kodwa is also calling on the IEC to prohibit the damaging of national symbols during election campaigns.  

Meanwhile, DA Federal Council Chairperson, Helen Zille, is defending the campaign ad.

She says it was the only way to convey a stark warning to South Africans.

Zille says the ad conveys the hard truth if a coalition between the ANC, EFF, and Jacob Zuma MK becomes a reality.

She also believes the controversy will help get the party's message across.
