JOHANNESBURG - Mazwi Kubheka drew public attention after he went missing earlier this year and was later found alive.
It's alleged he was kidnapped by local business rivals, sparking protests by the community for his safe return.
His experience brought to light the vulnerability of spaza shop owners amid calls by some for the sector to be reserved for South Africans.
After days of desperate pleas for his return, Kubheka unexpectedly made his way to Vosloorus Police Station.
