JOHANNESBURG - The contract killing business is booming in South Africa, giving rise to fears that the country is becoming a mafia state.

This prompted calls for the Justice Department to open specialised courts to deal with cases against hitmen.

However, Minister Ronald Lamola says the existing system is sufficient.
