Western Cape govt intensifies mop-up operations

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says many flood victims have been provided shelter.

This is as mop-up operations are underway following the heavy rains that caused substantial damage in the city.

At least 12 people have died due to accidents related to the flooding across the province.

Nearly 80 roads are closed and thousands of families have lost their homes.
