VREDENBURG - The woman arrested for allegedly setting Kelly Smith's house on fire has been granted R500 bail.
Monique Kekana allegedly torched Smith's house just hours after she and her co-accused were convicted of kidnapping and child trafficking.
She appeared briefly in the Vredenburg Magistrate's Court.
Speaking outside court, Kekane said she was relieved after hearing the court grant her bail.
Kekana defended her actions saying she was driven by emotions and anger when she allegedly attacked Kelly Smith's house.
She says she knows the pain of not knowing where your child and how this affects the entire family.
"I did it for the mothers out there," she said.
Kekana is adamant that Smith knows where Joshlin is.
