JOHANNESBURG - Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is calling on financiers to lower the cost of borrowing.
He says the high costs are hampering the transition to clean energy and development.
Ramokgopa says the credit rating system is outdated and needs to be changed.
He says it should be based on economic fundamentals and not perceived risk.
We discuss this with James Mackay, CEO of the Energy Council of South Africa.
